Text: Matthew
8:26-27 (KJV)
And he saith unto them, why are ye fearful, O ye of
little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a
great calm. But the men marveled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even
the winds and sea obey him!
I know you must be thinking what I am facing, but you are
about to find out. If I asked you, have you ever experienced any wind or storms
in your life? You will say yes, but if I asked you, have you ever faced it, or
did you run back? I wonder what your response would be. The terms “wind” and
“storms” are used to symbolize chaos. The truth is we all face different types
of wind or storms in our various fields of life on a daily basis. It can be as
small as a headache or as big as an accommodation challenge, but the fact still
remains that we all have different gravities of challenge in life. Usually,
there is no schedule attached to these storms, it just comes like that, but we
have to be prepared, and to do that, we have to equip ourselves with the Word
of God. So we should ask ourselves the same question Jesus asked the disciples,
which is “WHY ARE WE FEARFUL?” It says in Exodus 14:14-
The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
Certain times, those obstacles are allowed: (a) by God-
because it is all for our experience and maturity in life (b) because they were
activated by Satan, but the amazing part is that you can handle it by the
authority given to you to face and rebuke the storm (c) because we provoked it
all by our attitude, the good news is that we can face it because there is a
way out, we just need to confess our sins and repent of our shortcomings. In
all of those storms, the remedy and hope is always JESUS; so always remember
Him in those moments of trial. 1 Peter 5:7- Casting all
your care upon him; for he careth for you. I urge you to stop murmuring
why me, instead speak out, and face the obstacle because you have authority to
rebuke that storm with your mouth.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Oh Lord, please increase our faith to face every ragging
storm around us despite the magnitude, in Jesus name.
2. Father, we decree great CALMNESS in that issue of concern
now, in Jesus name.
3. Oh Lord, may we enjoy the peace that passeth all human
understanding, in Jesus name.
ACTION QUOTE:
Do you know that all your challenges can receive
calmness if you involve Jesus in that journey?
