Do not keep back

 

Text: Acts5:1-2 (KJV)
1But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira, his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
There is always a gift and a possession in every one of us that needs to be released to the world, but we often tend to keep it to ourselves. We end up making excuses like “I am shy” or “There is no opportunity to exhibit it” or some people are just being selfish with theirs, but all of these excuses cause us to disappoint God. God is all seeing, so no matter how much you try to hide or be selfish with your gift, He sees it. In our text above, Ananias and Sapphira hid theirs, or should I say kept part of it, and this resulted in them being punished by God. Acts 5:5, 10- 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband. This tells us being punished by God is the worst scenario we can ever be in, so we should start today to stop holding on to your gifts. He gave us these gifts, and we are meant to show it to the world because He has a unique purpose for it.  
This tells us that we need to change our attitude, and we can only do this by asking the Holy Spirit for help. We can start today to amend our ways, and we just need to surrender to Him. We must also remember that these gifts are giving honour to God and not unto man, so do not try to rob God. Malachi 3:8- Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. The amazing part is that when we express these gifts deposited in us, He mysteriously multiplies them. So start today to exhibit your special gift to the world and see how God will be blessing you.
PRAYER POINTS:  
1.Father, please help us to respect that which God has deposited in us so as to showcase them to the world, in Jesus name.
2. Oh Lord, may all that is done in secret and in the open bring glory and honour to God's name, in Jesus name.
3. Father, I refuse to allow Satan to engage my heart against the Holy Ghost in Jesus name.
