Be attentive to relevant words

 

Text: Ecclesiastics 7:21(KJV)

Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee.

There is a need for us to have our minds fixed on important things, and that is why our text of today reminds us not to pay attention or to take to heart all the things that we hear people say. We live in a world where so much information is passed via the easiest means, but we need to be careful in what we accept into our hearts because it can affect our emotional state. I tell you, listening to information about the current happenings around you is very important, but we need to be able to filter the unhealthy ones from the healthy ones, and this is where we need to ask God for help. John 8:47 (ESV) - Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God. When you have God or should I say when you ask God for help, you end up being resistant to the unnecessary information, and that in turn will result in you feeding yourself with information that will take you higher in life and will bring you joy and happiness. Job 36:11- If they hear and serve Him, they will end their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

Interestingly, not only is learning to filter information important, but also how you react to those information also matter. I tell you, your reaction to particular information plays a vital role in your future. We need to be careful and also learn to take heed to God’s words because it teaches you all you need to know about life, and this will result in you having a great tomorrow. It is never too late, so I urge you to mold your words, reaction, response, and information of today, so as not to sow a seed that you cannot uproot tomorrow.

PRAYER POINTS:

1.Father, please help me to mature so as to overlook gossip about me and others in Jesus name.

2.Oh Lord, please help me to pay attention to relevant details over issues of concern in Jesus name.

3. Oh Lord, may we hear and follow what the Lord will command concerning our lives and not what the environment is speaking in Jesus name.
