The Lord Is My Shepherd

Text: Psalm 23:1 (KJV)

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Friends, when we make the Lord our Shepherd, we are placing our lives under the care, guidance, protection, and provision of the One who knows us completely. A shepherd watches over the sheep, leads them to where they can find food and water, protects them from danger, and ensures that they do not wander away. In the same way, God cares deeply about every area of our lives. Sometimes, we become anxious because we want to know what tomorrow will bring or how our needs will be met. But Psalm 23:1 reminds us that we have a Shepherd who is always ahead of us. We may not know what lies ahead, but our Shepherd does. Therefore, we can trust His direction even when we do not understand the journey. Isaiah 40:11 - He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Amazingly, this is just a wonderful assurance, today. We are not abandoned, forgotten, or left to figure everything out by ourselves.Indeed, God is our Shepherd, and His care over us is constant. Therefore, surrender your plans, fears, and uncertainties to God. Jesus said in John 10:11 - I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheepSo, allow Him to lead you daily, because when the Lord is your Shepherd, you can walk through life with confidence, knowing that you are under His care in Jesus' name.

Prayer Point:

Father, thank You for being my Shepherd. Help me to trust Your leading, provision, and protection every day in Jesus’ name.

Action Quote: Friends, when the Lord is your Shepherd, you don't have to fear the journey because the One who leads you already knows the way.
