Faith Changes Your Countenance

Text: 1 Samuel 1:18 (KJV)

And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.

Friends, genuine faith produces visible transformation long before circumstances change.  We can see that in the life of Hannah, she entered the temple burdened with sorrow, but she left with renewed joy even though she had not yet conceived her seed. Proverbs 15:13 - A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by the sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. Her confidence rested not in what she could see but in the God who had heard her prayer. So, brighten up because God has heard your prayers, too. Hebrews 11:1 reminds us that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Faith replaces anxiety with expectation and despair with hope.  Psalm 16:11-“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore

Likewise, when we truly believe God's promises, our attitude changes before our situation does. Hannah's sadness disappeared because she trusted God's faithfulness. As believers, our faces should reflect the confidence that comes from knowing our heavenly Father is at work. We may still face challenges, but we no longer live under the weight of hopelessness. Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Therefore, let your faith be stronger than your fears, and allow God's promises to fill your heart with joy and confidence today in Jesus name.

Prayer Point:
Lord, increase my faith so that I may live with joy, confidence, and hope regardless of my present circumstances in Jesus' name.

Action Quote: Remember, when faith fills your heart, hope will always shine through your countenance.
