Text: Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Friends, one of the greatest decisions you can
make each day is to seek God first. Though, we are surrounded with endless
demands, and pressures, it is easy to pursue success, wealth, recognition,
before pursuing God. Yet our Lord Jesus Christ teaches that when we place God's
Kingdom and His righteousness above everything else, He faithfully takes care
of every other aspect of our lives. Therefore, seeking God first requires us making
Him the highest priority in our thoughts, decisions, and daily activities. It
is choosing to spend time in prayer, studying His Word, worshipping Him, and
obeying His instructions before depending on our own wisdom. Proverbs 3:5–6 - Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge
him, and he shall direct thy paths. So, as we continually seek His presence,
God grants us wisdom, peace, direction, and strength to fulfill His purpose for
our lives.
Unfortunately, many seek God's hand but neglect
His heart. They desire His blessings without cultivating a genuine relationship
with Him. Also, others only remember God when they face difficulties,
forgetting that a consistent walk with Him is the key to lasting victory. Jeremiah 29:13 – And ye shall seek me, and find me,
when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Therefore, begin each
day by seeking God's presence before seeking people's approval or worldly
achievements. Let His Word and prayer guide your decisions and first response
instead of your last resort, as allow the Holy Spirit to lead every step you
take. As you consistently put God first, He will order your steps, open doors
no one can shut in His perfect will in Jesus' name.
Prayer Point:
Oh Lord, help me to seek You above every earthly desire
and make my heart delight in Your presence daily as you direct my steps in
Jesus' name.
Action Quote: Remember, when God becomes your first
priority, everything else finds its rightful place according to His perfect
plan.
