Strength for the Journey

 

Text: Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Friends, life is a journey with several seasons. So, along the way, there are moments when we feel weak, discouraged or overwhelmed by the demands of life. Yet God does not intend you to rely solely on your own strength. He has promised a divine strength for every season and every assignment. Just rely on Him. When we place our trust in Him, He renews our strength and enables us to continue moving forward despite difficulties. Our text today, reminds us that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. This means that God's strength becomes available to those who depend on Him through prayer, faith, and obedience in everything. We see human strength fail, but God's power never diminishes. Therefore, you must learn to draw strength from God's presence rather than from circumstances that may discouraging. The journey may be long, but God provides sufficient grace for every step. Psalm 84:7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

Interestingly, there are several individuals who received strength from God for their journey. Like Moses was strengthened to lead Israel through the wilderness despite his weakness. Elijah received divine strength after a season of discouragement and continued his assignment. Also, David found strength in the Lord during difficult times and fulfilled God's purpose for his life. Hence, God can equip you with the strength you need to complete your own journey, too. Philippians 4:13 (KJV)
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Today, do not allow weariness or challenges to stop you. I know, the God who strengthened His servants in times past is still strengthening His people today. I pray that God will renew your strength, uphold you by His power to finish well in Jesus' name.

Prayer Point:
Oh Lord, renew my strength for the journey ahead and help me to depend on You daily and empower me to overcome every challenge, in Jesus' name.
