Text: Acts 3:6(KJV)
Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I
do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, rise up and walk.
Friends, let’s lift our
expectations beyond survival as we trust Jesus not just for needs but to change
our conditions. He is the answer. Today, our God has something far greater in
mind than our regular request. The scripture above teaches us about a man who
sat at the gate called Beautiful who was lame from birth. Every day, he was
carried there to ask for alms, small gifts that helped him survive but never
changed his condition. John11:25 Jesus said unto her, I
am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were
dead, yet shall he live. But seeing Peter and John he expected the same
money but Peter’s word revealed a powerful truth that Jesus is more than alms.
We can see that the alms was meeting temporary needs as there are things money
cannot buy but Jesus brings lasting transformation. You must learn to walk out
of continual dependence on man. So, let’s stop asking what will sustain us
briefly, and go for God’s ultimate desire to give us wholeness, freedom and
purposeful living. Mathew 6:33 - But seek ye first the
kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto
you.
Amazingly, the money could help
the lame man for a moment, but only the name of Jesus could restore his
strength, dignity, and future. Yes, all we need is just an encounter, you can
be moved from lifelong limitations to public testimony. We can see the
transformed man walking, leaping, and praising God.
John 10:10 - The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly. I pray Jesus will step into our situation today, as He does
not merely ease our pain rather He addresses the root and rewrites the story of
individuals and nations in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, I ask not only for today’s help but for a lasting
transformation as to discover God’s plan for my life that will brings about
public testimony in Jesus name
ACTION QUOTE: Remember, Jesus gives freely what money cannot buy
but we shall receive hope and new life.
