Walking with the Needful

 

Text: Luke 10:40-42.

But one thing is needful; and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Friends, we meet walls of opposition even in our adventures in life. But, Mary decided on the needful as at the moment.  And the master commended her right choice of preference, as she takes the good part, and, it shall not be taken from her. Martha was distracted and worried about many things, but Mary was calm at the feet of Jesus learning the word which is the the needful. Psalm 119:105 The word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.  We meet opportunities where we need to make decisions daily, but how decisive are you to look up to the master?

Interestingly, you should learn to set your scale of priority right in decisions because many get themselves worked up over everything.  But we should remember there is first thing first because just one thing is needful as the main course. Ask yourself what is my next action that will not bring regrets? You can decide to invest on the current needs for your peace of mind.  There are still weightier matters in any field and until we go through the right process, we will be beating about the bush. Math23:23b …. and you have neglected the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith, but do not neglect the more important things.  There is still need to go for the top in the list. So, we need to develop priority in our selection of duty as to fulfill purpose and not to be cumbered with issues and regrets in Jesus name.

1.Oh Lord, help me to go back to my action list so that I will not be busy and fruitless that brings frustrations in Jesus name.
