Never follow the multitude

 

Text: Exodus 23:2 (KJV)

Thou shall not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment.

Friends, we are expected to do things differently from everyone else. There is a general norm which we must all deal with as believers.  We must fight those thoughts and learn not to follow the multitude to do evil. According to our text, we can see that this challenge is still going today. The fact that we have Jesus as a helper gives us the courage to make right decisions, so I encourage you to set a pace for the good multitudes or followers of good today. We should remember to make an effort to stand out and shine in the midst of darkness. Romans 12:2- And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Many of us still feel pressured because of the people we hang out with, but the truth is the closer we are drawn to those people, the farther we are from God.

You can be that one individual that can set a pace for the multitude to follow. Always try to differentiate good from evil, even when the majority is on the wrong track. James 4:4- Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.   Do not allow your social preference to dilute your Christian beliefs. We must be conscious of our values and faith in God, even in making choices. Remember, if everybody is doing it, does not make it a good thing.

1. Father, please help me to stay strong, so as to stand out as a positive influence in my vicinity, in Jesus name.
