Joy like a River

  

Text: Joel 1:12 (KJV)

The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because Joy is withered away from the sons of men.

 

Have you realized that Joy is withering in our society of today, or should I say fading away? The reason for this is because most people find Joy in many worldly things, instead of in Jesus, which is very sad. Joy is one of the fruits we bear as we walk and are led by His spirit. It is a benefit we freely enjoy in Him and we can all use in these current situations, pains, and afflictions of life. In the world of today, all that the world put their hope on has dried up. The truth is that when your Joy is attacked, every other thing begins to dry up, but that is not the same with those who find Joy in God, they rather experience life overflow. Joy is a divine virtue, and we must learn to create an environment where we can express our Joy in either singing, dancing, praying in known or unknown tongues, or the word. Psalms 30:5b- Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy comes in the morning. This kind of Joy can only be experienced if you have access to Jesus. It is contagious and can flow to those around us.  It is an in-flow of the presence of His spirit and can strengthen one in any situation of life. Nehemiah 8:10b- For this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the Joy of the Lord is your strength.

 

Friends, the things of this world can wither but when your source is from God, it can never dry up. We have to activate this ceaseless Joy even when there are no proofs. We have a part to play by being a carrier of His presence. Psalms 16:11- Thou shall shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of Joy; at thy right hand, there are pleasures for evermore. We must activate God’s presence as to stop our Joy from drying up. This is our covenant inheritance in this kingdom, and it is our new way of living because it is not based on the happenings but on whom we carry and represent. Once this is activated, the other fruits of the Spirit begin to show.  So, remember, your situation is changing now, and testimony will spring forth because of this everlasting Joy we are experiencing in Jesus name.

 

PRAYER POINT:

1. Father, we declare that this is our morning of Joy overflow, and every secret tear comes to an end by your grace, in Jesus name.
